Mayoral Candidate Presents Restructuring Plan

July 22, 2009--Syracuse mayoral candidate Joe Nicoletti announced his new government restructuring plan today. Nicoletti held a press conference at Syracuse University with about 30 journalists to outline the details of the plan. He says that modernization is important to help Syracuse get more funding from the state and federal governments. Nicoletti thinks that it has been too long since the city government has been restructured. "Syracuse has not undergone a structural change since probably the late 50s or 60s," he says. His plan includes green job initiatives and consolidation of services. Nicoletti is one of three Democratic candidates for mayor. He has to win the primary or run as an independent to be on the ballot for the general election. This is his third run for mayor.
