The "Lance Effect"

July 21, 2009

Syracuse Bicycle co-owner, Paul Komanecky is seeing an interest in cycling rise due to Lance Armstrong’s involvement in the Tour de France. Komanecky says that people in the cycling industry refer it as “Lance Effect.” The “Lance Effect” is bringing in money for the store, and the store is responding by offering “Lance gear,” including his bike. Because of the growing interest in cycling, the Syracuse Bicycle website is streaming real time coverage of the Tour de France. If that isn’t enough involvement for you in the tour, you can actually log on and virtually ride with the tour by logging your miles into the MapMyRide website. Through the website, you can see what stage you are on and compare yourself to your favorite rider!
