Joe Nicoletti Announces Plans for Restructure

July 22, 2009

Joe Nicoletti, one of the democratic candidates for mayor, held a news conference at Syracuse University Wednesday morning where he announced his plans to reinvigorate the local government. Calling government modernization, sustainability, and consolidation the "wave of the future," he says that the current system has not seen a significant change since 1965. He also spoke about consolidating government programs and cooperating more with the county and nearby towns and villages on everything from taxes to snow plows.

He also mentioned economic breaks for local companies that followed green initiatives and the deconstruction of housing, similar to Habitats for Humanity, in Syracuse using a local workforce.
