Summer Rain Keeps Pools Empty

The high number of rainy days has made this summer unpredictable, and people are not swimming as much. The lack of swimmers has affected pool staff in their scheduling and consistency. Abbey Harrington is the life guard at the Clarendon Heights community pool in Syracuse. “We lose some of our hours sometimes if we have to leave early,” said Harrington. Harrington’s pool duties increase when the rain begins as she must scramble and bring things inside the pool basement. “…It gets kind of dead and boring out there by the poolside,” Harrington added. Cloudy skies will continue in Syracuse throughout the week.
